Character Name & Pronouns: Firefly, she/her
Character Age: Firefly is, in fact, a clone with some age wonkiness. Nonetheless, the lore for Glamoth's Iron Cavalry suggests she was a baby at some point -- after all, that's when they (big yikes!) gave her a terminal illness. In short, I put her at around 18-22 -- she says she wants to be a student, and given that she is an experienced mecha pilot and former soldier, I think "young adult" sounds about right. Characters like Welt and Gallagher feel she is young; she seems to be a peer with the Trailblazer and March.

History: Firefly's wiki page has literally every last detail that you could ever want. Here! It's a lot so let me know if you need a summary.

Personality: Outwardly, Firefly seems like a kind, gentle young woman. This isn't a lie or an act, but it is a simplification -- and at times, a deliberate simplification -- of who she really is. She is sweet and thoughtful; she looks out for others, and she tries to be encouraging and loving. She is also, at times, impulsive -- she grabbed the Trailblazer by the hand and took them on a whirlwind tour of Penacony's Golden Hour, after all. But that impulsiveness comes from a place of kindness, of wanting to support and love those she cherishes.

Additionally, she is a smart young woman, and she can be funny -- Firefly isn't above telling a good joke and finding the humor in a situation. She is good at rolling with the punches. Though, if pressed the right way (by Sampo Koski, real or imitated, for instance), she can be a little sarcastic or even snarky. She still rolls with the punches, though.

This is who she is deep down, but there are scars on her heart from the difficulties with her life.

Firefly had to learn to become a soldier and a killer. She was taught, at a young age, that she was not a person: she was a weapon, an instrument of Glamoth to fight their enemies. This changed Firefly, and it comes out in moments of duress and combat. She can be cold, matter-of-fact, and aloof -- she is skilled at being the distant and deadly Stellaron Hunter, Sam.

But Firefly fights for a future that was taken her, and she has an intense drive to pursue that. She wants to live the life that Entropy Loss Syndrome denied her: to have friends, to see beautiful things, to fall in love, and to have a normal life. She pursues this with vigor and passion, and tries to balance it with her duties as a Stellaron Hunter -- while fearing what the script will demand of her, and also that it can't be deviated from no matter what she tries. She tries her best to live in the moment -- to enjoy connections she has now, to treasure the present. She often succeeds, but there are days where it feels like it is never enough.

This can make Firefly fatalistic, sometimes. She regards fate as a cruel thing, and she wishes she could break from it. She wants to dream of a future that keeps going -- but she knows her life is going to be cut short. Or, if she follows Elio's script, she might not be able to be with the one person that she cares for most in the world. Firefly can become bitter, sometimes, and that can lead to her feeling sad.

But she still takes joy in those little moments, and despite that sadness and sense of loss, Firefly wants to be an optimist. She just needs that little push sometimes. Firefly is sincere, and she tries to not lie; her life is too short for dishonesty, with herself or with others.

Abilities: Typically, Firefly is an athletic young woman in her late teens/early twenties. She is in very good physical condition, being a cloned soldier; she is strong, dextrous, and fast. She also has excellent vision and hearing. The big asterisk to this is that she has Entropy Loss Syndrome: a fatal disease that causes pain and, eventually, an inevitable and early death.

Firefly has a couple of highly advanced technological items, which she can make manifest out of thin air. One is a one-handed, double-edged sword of pale green light. Firefly is reasonably skilled with this and good at cutting open various objects to get loot from them.

The other is her powered armor, SAM (or the Fyrefly Type-IV Strategic Assault Mech). This armor is taller than most people and capable of emitting large blasts of fire, which cause intense amounts of damage. It can make swords like Firefly's ordinary ones, and it can fly. And it's a suit of highly advanced armor. Firefly can use this, though it hurts to do so, worsening the pain of her Entropy Loss Syndrome. It connects directly to her sensory organs, so she literally can see through it.
